2011年春、この池と出会いました。
広島県大崎上島町垂水にある塩田跡の池、はじめてこのを地を訪れた時、
その環境の素晴らしさに驚き感動しました。
10万m2の広大な塩田跡の池は、鳥のさえずりが響く山々に囲まれ、
気持ちの良い風が吹きぬけ、なんとも穏やかでした。
周囲の海は透明度が高く、県内でも5本の指に入るほどのきれいな海水が流れています。
「この池だ!」塩田跡の池を前に、今までに感じたことのないような予感が走りました。
当時、牡蠣などの海産物を輸出する会社を創めて間もないころでしたが、
この塩田跡の池との出会いは、
養殖業を営みたいという学生の頃からの夢を奮い起こさせ、僕を夢中にさせたのです。
そして養殖業への挑戦を、僕に決意させてくれました。
僕らの挑戦のはじまりは、この塩田跡の池との出会いからです。
